Retrato de um "day-after", o políptico de 8 peças dialoga com a transformação ocorrida repentinamente depois da passagem de um furacão.
O dia seguinte é inundado pelo rescaldo que alterara o vazio e silêncio anteriores ao evento catastrófico, trazendo como protagonista, em posição frontal, uma coleção vertiginosa de fragmentos reunidos e reorganizados pelo esforço do homem em lidar com o caos estabelecido.
Retorno dias seguidos para revisitar meu objeto retratado, que paulatinamente assume uma feição inevitável da idéia de ciclo, cuja progressão em busca novamente do vazio nos faz lembrar que os processos e experiências a que somos submetidos podem retornar ao seu ponto de origem, mas cujo advento do "novo", por mais sutil que seja, ainda carregará alguma marca física ou emocional daquilo que deixou de existir.
Um branco não é nunca a mesma coisa.
Portrait of a "day-after", the 8-piece polyptych converses with the transformation that occurred suddenly after a hurricane. The following day is flooded by the aftermath that had altered the emptiness and silence prior to the catastrophic event, bringing forward, in a frontal position, a vertiginous collection of fragments gathered and reorganized by man's effort to deal with the established chaos.
I return for a few days to revisit my portrayed object, which gradually assumes an inevitable feature of the idea of cycle, whose progression in search back to emptiness reminds us that the processes and experiences to which we are subjected may return to their point of origin, but whose advent of the "new”, however subtle, will still carry some physical or emotional imprint of what has ceased to exist.
A white is never the sam thing.
